This hike is quite long and a difficult one because you have to walk 7 or 8 hours a day, so we recommend you to prepare well, doing shorter walks at the altitude of Cusco during 3 days before starting the hike. At this part of Vilcanota cordillera we can hike at heights above 5000 meters above sea level, and have a fabulous panoramic view of crystalline lakes and nearby mountains. We can see the typical Andean animals as lamas, vizcachas, alpacas and vicunas in droves, we will be in contact with Andean people who speak Quechua and know about their costumes, economy and their way of living, their religion, their gods like the Apus, or sacred mountains considered by them as sacred spirits.
