In this trek you walk between 5 and 7 hours daily, MachuPicchu is not included. Always in the altitudes, you will have fantastic views of the snow in the mountains of Pitusiray and Sahuasiray and beautiful lakes too. You will meet local people, who wear typical clothes and also who you can talk with and camp near their houses.
ITINERARY:
Cuzco - Calca - Lares - Kiswarani - Cancha Cancha - Huaran - Machu Picchu
DAY 1: CUZCO - CALCA - LARES KISWARANI
Pick up from airport or from your hotel and early departure by bus from Cusco to Calca town, which is located in the sacred valley of the Incas, we will continue the trip to PASCANA ZONE, here we meet the horses to start the hike.
We begin the trek to arrive to the thermal baths of LARES and to have lunch. In the afternoon the trek continues until the little town of cuncani. Lunch, dinner and camping.
DAY 2: KISWARANI -CANCHA CANCHA
We hike up to Kiswarani Andean town, nice view of Lares Valley; we can also see llamas and alpacas. Climb to pass 4600 m. (PACHACUTEC), we will have a panoramic view of the mountains PITUSIRAY, SAHUASIRAY and green lagoons.
We descend to the camping side of Cancha Cancha; we meet local people who talks in Quechua language. Walk 6 hours to camping site. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and camping.
DAY 3: CANCHA CANCHA - HUARAN - MACHUPICCHU
After an early breakfast, we will walk down to Huaran in the Sacred Valley (2830) about 3 hours; here we can appreciate Andean flora and birds.
We transport to Ollantaytambo town to get the train to Machupicchu, one night there. Breakfast and lunch.
DAY 4: MACHUPICCHU
Early departure to start the guided tour of Machupicchu, free time to take a walk.
Return by train to Cusco, transport to the hostel.
