Maukallaqta Hike - Hiking Peru Tour (2 days - 1 nights)

This is a new long walk program of 2 days and one night. In this route you will visit some small typical towns and also you will visit the thermal baths and see the ancient agriculture terraces. Then we will walk to the Puma Orqo rock, from where Ayar brothers came out, according to a legend. Afterwards we will visit the archaeological site of MAUK’A Llaqta.

ITINERARY:

Cuzco - Yaurisque - Maukallaqta

DAY 1: CUZCO - YAURISQUE

Pick up from airport or from your Hotel. Transport in private buses from Cusco to Yaurisque, where the walk begins. Optional visit to thermal baths near Yaurisque. Walk by the remains of Pallata; descend to Puma Orqo, where come from the legend of Ayar Brothers.

By the afternoon continue the trekking and in about one hour you will arrive to Mauk´a Llaqta. Camp near the ruins, have lunch and dinner.

DAY 2: MAUK'A LLAQTA - CUZCO

After having breakfast, we will be able to explore the archaeological group of Mauk’a Llaqta in a guided tour, like urban, religious and agriculture zones and then we will have lunch.

After this we will walk down to the Huaynacancha ranch. Return transport to Cusco.
