This is a hike that begins in the humid jungle and continuous with climbs into the magnificent Andes. There is not much tourism on this route but it offers a lot of interesting sites we can visit. There is a big richness of flora and fauna, snow peaks, impressive valleys, at the same time we will visit the last refuge of the Incas, VILCABAMBA, and its archaeological sites. We continue the trek trough an Inca trail and arrive at the archaeological group of MACHUPICCHU.


ITINERARY:

Cuzco - HuancaCallle - Andes - Qhapaq Ñan - Valle - Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu

DAY 1: CUZCO - HUANCACALLE

After pick you up from airport or your hotel, we will travel by bus from Cusco to QUILLABAMBA town, tropical place, the temperature is about 25-30°C, arriving early in the morning.

From Quillabamba we take another bus to HUANCACALLE, where we will arrive in the afternoon. After lunch, we will have a guided visit of the archaeological sites of Vitcus-Rosaspata and Ñustahispana (or White Rock). Cold lunch, dinner and camping.

DAY 2: HUANCACALLE - ANDES

After an early breakfast we begin our expedition walking on an impressive Inca Trail that was part of the Qhapaq Ñan (Network of Inca's Trails that   crossed the Inca's Empire). We can observe a variety of snowed, and follow crystal clear rivers. It is a spectacular walk as you leave the high jungle and arrive in the Andes. 
Breakfast, lunch, dinner and camping.

DAY 3: ANDES - VALLES

We will climb above altitudes more than 4000m, and pass over three consecutive passes that are often snow covered, especially in winter. We pass by high alpine lakes and appreciate deep cavernous valleys.

We begin to descend late in the afternoon and can appreciate the different levels of the mountains and admire the flora and fauna.

This is the most difficult day of the hike. We camp in an excellent canyon. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and camping.

DAY 4: VALLE - AGUAS CALIENTES

After breakfast, our trek is all going down, we enter once again to the high jungle, and the climate is still temperate. We pass by a canyon filled of water and continue through the coffee and fruit plantations, then arriving at the village of Yanatile. From here, we will take a bus to Santa Teresa.

After a short walk we cross the Vilcanota River and then take a truck to the Hydro-Electric station. We continue the hike to AGUAS CALIENTES town. You can go to the thermal baths in Aguas Calientes it’s open until 9 pm Overnight at AGUAS CALIENTES town, breakfast and lunch.

DAY 5: AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHUPICCHU

After breakfast we visit the archaeological site of Machupicchu, and then return by train to Cusco city.
